Stanford interview debrief

I did not get invited to interview with Stanford (their loss. Yes I know they will get a lot of well qualified and great students who will do them proud. If you need me …

I’ll be under my blanket crying my heart out. Just got a ding from Stanford. I’m entirely and utterly confused. So I’m going to go through the motions of work today ill I can crawl under my blanket and sleep for at least 12 hours straight.

This was not supposed to happen. Now I’ve got to go through the entire process for round 2. 50% is not enough to put my entire faith on for this round.

Yes, I’m aware that it’s just two days to go till the window closes but you’re talking to the lady who got her Booth invite on the last day and her Sloan invite on the day before the last. I’m not giving up hope! I can’t!In my mind, I’m a member of Stanford MBA class of 2017, have been since August 1, 2014 and I don’t foresee any changes to that. Read the rest of this entry »

While waiting…

As all my good friends know, patience is not one of my strong points. And Stanford is stretching beyond what I thought was my capacity but I am handling it just fine. Sort of. There are three things occupying most of my thoughts at this time: Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Independence (Freedom)!!!

I’m writing this from the heaven that is known as “post MBA application”. I finally submitted the other two application with a lot more drama than the first two. Before I give you the gist, allow me to say “Happy Independence day!” to my beautiful motherland.  For those of you that don’t know, Naija is what the average Nigerian calls Nigeria informally. So now you know how much I love the country 😀 The timing is perfect, Nigeria celebrates her independence, I celebrate submitting my applications. Now the details on Stanford and Wharton Read the rest of this entry »

One Month to go

Overwhelmed? Not me!

So Me. In exactly one month, I intend to click send on my Sloan Applications but at this moment it is all over the place as are my emotions and thoughts. I have spent more hours working this week than I spent on every other thing put together. I really am not complaining but I’m not thrilled about it either. I did manage to squeeze out three hours to spend with the Stanford admissions team when they came to Nigeria and I’m glad I did. Here’s a summary of the things I learnt or relearnt from that visit and some of them came from Derek Bolton himself, unfortunately, I didn’t get down which came from who.
