If you need me …

25 Nov

I’ll be under my blanket crying my heart out. Just got a ding from Stanford. I’m entirely and utterly confused. So I’m going to go through the motions of work today ill I can crawl under my blanket and sleep for at least 12 hours straight.

This was not supposed to happen. Now I’ve got to go through the entire process for round 2. 50% is not enough to put my entire faith on for this round.

Shit!

hmm you are getting me worried about round 2. you have interviews at Booth and Sloan. The probability getting denied at both is less than 25% (assuming 50% shot at each). Any reason why you believe differently?

None. I don’t believe differently but my risk assurance persona cannot accept the odds as they are. I’ve got to hedge it.

    pele!

I know you wanted this school particularly. Do you even know what schools you would attempt for R2?

😦 I’m so sorry to hear that. Please don’t cry though. I understand how painful it must be. But you need your confidence to nail the Booth & Sloan interviews.

Thanks. I’m taking a day to mourn the loss of a dream. Then I’ll face my Sloan interview prep like its the only thing in my life. I hope I can build up my confidence before then. πŸ™‚

I am sorry to hear this! Yes, you see deserve a good cry, it’s what I would do. But after, pick yourself up and nail that Sloan interview. Best of luck!

Hi. As you know, I went through the same experience with Stanford GSB. I know it’s hard to accept, but the interview invite rate is insanely low – hundreds of amazing candidates didn’t get interviews like you (and me last year!) – and you have to accept that there is an element of luck in this process.

I’m sorry for you; it’s a tough call to decide whether to apply to other schools in Round 2. With your experience and phenomenal success so far (yes, a lot of people would love to be in your shoes right now with two interview invites!) I’m sure you will make short work of the R2 applications. Personally, it killed my holiday last Dec/Jan!

Chin up lucky lady and show me that ROAR that already got you two invites! πŸ™‚

Oh NaijaMBAgal! I am so sorry. But please dont lose heart, you have Booth and Sloan to look forward to. You will do amazing at the interviews! Focus on those. I am looking forward to you getting acceptances to both those schools. Stay strong. Stay positive.
