Bad News from Wharton

So, I woke up from the flu I was nursing to find out I got a ding from Wharton. That was a shocker, I was fairly certain I would get in.

On to Booth interview prep and waiting for Stanford + Sloan. I’ll update this post tomorrow.

Minor Updates, practice questions & Interview with Accepted

My Booth interview has been setup for next week Tuesday and my interviewer is not the famous Lady A that did my first interview. I realised I did not include that in my last post. I’m knee-deep into my preparations for the interview but it is a very slow process as I’m currently working an average of 12 hours a day, six days a week (and that’s not counting the hours spent in the tedious Lagos traffic). By the way, my interview with is now live – check it out.

Another thing I forgot to do was to provide the universe of questions I’m using for my preparation so here you go: Read the rest of this entry »

Return of the little red book and change of name ;)

My little red book of ideas is back!!! As you probably know (if you’ve followed my story from the begining, you already know), I got to the interview stage with Booth i round 3 of the applications for the class of 2016. Affter that, things went south 🙂 So I am intent on preventing a reoccurrence of that event. My approach last year was to prepare a bit but not so much that I sound rehearsed at the interview and I think I may have stumbled over a few questions. This year I’ll be trying a different approach. Rain! Finally!! – From Booth with Love

Do you know how it feels to receive an invite on the last day of the the mid-decision week?

All the scenarios that your mind will dream of and discard? How many mini heart attacks? The tears, the words, the joy, the pain and the hopelessness of it all? I was still holding on to a tiny smudge of hope and struggling to encourage myself (which is why I am writing this post by 9:30am WAT (UTC+1) – a long time before the final invites are released). I stopped checking gmatclub forum earlier this week because my heart could not handle all the excitement.

Waiting for the rain

I am one of those people who like to be in control so this phase of the application process is the most stressful for me. Waiting and knowing that there really is nothing you can do at this time to influence that decision is really difficult. Thankfully I have not had the time to focus on the wait. I want to say …

A lot of things to a lot of people. Being able to submit my applications in round one is a direct result of the effort, time and emotions put into the applications by a lot of people. So this post is to say some of the things I want to say to all of you.

First, I want to say “I’m sorry”. Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Independence (Freedom)!!!

I’m writing this from the heaven that is known as “post MBA application”. I finally submitted the other two application with a lot more drama than the first two. Before I give you the gist, allow me to say “Happy Independence day!” to my beautiful motherland.  For those of you that don’t know, Naija is what the average Nigerian calls Nigeria informally. So now you know how much I love the country 😀 The timing is perfect, Nigeria celebrates her independence, I celebrate submitting my applications. Now the details on Stanford and Wharton Read the rest of this entry »
